The company,
Canadian Inovatech Inc., based in Abbotsford,
British Columbia, was the successor to a combination
of family businesses founded in the late 1950's
that operated primarily in the Canadian egg
processing business. It evolved into an international
company employing the latest in technology,
research and development to produce and market
food, nutritional and nutraceutical ingredients
and finished products.
Recognized globally as a leader in high technology
egg-based products that provided 'value-added'
application solutions, Canadian Inovatech
experienced continued growth through the introduction
of Centromay for use in mayonnaise production
and Centrova, a concentrated egg product for
general baking applications.
In August 2002, Michael
Foods, Inc. with headquarters in Minnetonka,
Minnesota, acquired the Egg Products business
of Canadian Inovatech Inc. and named the new
company 'Inovatech Egg Products' ("IEP").
IEP operates plants in Winnipeg, Manitoba
and St. Marys, Ontario and has distribution
facilities in Abbotsford, British Columbia
and Mississauga, Ontario.
The market
leadership provided by Michael Foods as the
largest producer and supplier of processed
eggs in the United States, coupled with the
strengths of Inovatech in the marketing of
value-added specialty egg products for the
industrial market, provides an extensive base
to serve customers' needs around the world.
